Ending of World War One
The final battle of World War 2 – the European Theatre, including the surrendering of German, took place between the end of April 1945 and the beginning of May 1945. It was a gradual event as troops and commanders died or surrendered.
On April 27, 1945, Benito Mussolini, the Italian dictator, died when he was captured by Italian partisans.
Hitler died on April 30, after the Battle of Berlin raged above him. Realizing his lost and did not want to suffer like Mussolini, the German dictator committed suicide in his bunker with Eva Braun, his mistress that he married hours ago.

Then on May 1st, SS General, Karl Wolff and General Heinrich von Vietinghoff ordered the German forces in Italy to surrender after signing a surrender document.
On May 2, the Battle of Berlin officially ended and the commander of the Berlin Defense Area surrendered. On the same day, the commanders of the two armies of Army Group Vistula north of Berlin also surrendered to the Western Allies.
On May 4, 1945, the German forces and allies in North West Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark, surrendered by the British Field Marshal Montgomery.
The German forces in Bavaria followed to surrender on May 4, 1945. Hermann Foertsch surrendered all the forces to the American General, Jacob L. Devers.
The next day, May 5th, the Soviets launched the Prague Offensive. In Dresdan, Martin Mutschmann let know to the public that a German offensive was about to be launched.
At 18:00 on May 6, the German forces in Breslau surrendered.
On May 8, the German forces on the Channel Islands, surrendered. It was announced by the German authorities and broadcasted on the radio.
General Alfred Jodl and General Wilhelm Keitel surrendered all German forces between the 7th and 8th of May. The signing ceremony to order peace occurred in a former German Army Engineering School in Berlin.
In the West on May 8th, news broke about the surrender of Germany. On the same day, German units ceased fire. Schorner left his command and escaped to Austria. The Soviet Army sent devastating force beside Army Group Centre in the Prague Offensive, forcing German units in Army Group Centre to capitulate by May 11th, which the last did on 12th May. There were however a few forces that did not surrender yet, but gradually did.
On June 5th, official documents to declare the defeat of Germany and the ending of World War II were made. The Assumptions of Supreme Authority by Allied Powers were signed. Later on, worldwide peace treaties were signed to prevent future wars.
